Abstract:
Content Management Systems (CMS) are software platforms that strongly contribute to make organizations more agile, flexible and dynamic concerning the management of their contents: business-oriented structured and no-structured information. A CMS's extra feature is Workflow support since it can allow task automation, ultimately increasing organizations productivity. While there are different kinds of Workflow platforms, this paper concentrates mostly in Content Management Workflow, analyzing key features like: Workflow definition, representation, instance management, content mapping and third-party application communication. Finally, it is also analyzed and discussed the workflow support in existing CMS such as Alfresco, Typo3, OpenADMS and Vignette.
